When Photographers Get Bored

FIND WALLY!

Look closely!

When Photographers Get Bored.

Today has been a pretty groggy day for me after going out to a club called [W]elly last night. So today, I've pretty much 'monged' out, and played around on Photoshop  Unfortunately, I don't have a great deal of friends around at the minute in Hull as they are still away for summer. Hopefully, when they get back in September I can steal them as models! That said, I have an idea which may actually require a 'model' for, as slight nudity is needed for the finished result. OK OK, now I feel like I have to explain myself. Basically, the idea is to pour body paint on a nude model and then remove the actual model in Photoshop so it's just the body paint left in thin air, showing the models shape and pose. Technically, you won't see any nudity! That's probably the best I can explain it, maybe I'll draw you a representation once I get all my materials together again.

Anyways,

Hope you managed to find Wally!

Ex. Allgäu

Ex. Allgäu

Recently I returned from an Adventure Training Exercise with my OTC. It was a very interesting couple of weeks, there was vehicle break-downs, waffle-making machines, trekking, klettersteiging, rock climbing and kayaking. Best of all was the breath-taking views. There were some slightly dodgy moments were I had to decide whether a photograph was worth a plummet to my death. Fortunately, for me, I managed to get a few good photos without injury.

A 'cheeky' one from me and the lads.

Dance Show 2013

Dance Show 2013

Hull University's Dance Society (HUDS)

Last Sunday I photographed the Dance Society's show. It was an amazing performance and money was raised for charity. The dancers did an excellent job.

Dance shows can be difficult to shoot, the lighting is always changing and it wasn't the brightest either. Nonetheless, I tried to avoid high ISO when possible and still capture the image with a faster shutter speed when it suited. This is my second time shooting the dance show and I wanted to try and capture a lot more close ups than previously. I used my 55-300mm Nikkor lens and made use of the autofocus feature!I didn't want to miss-focus any opportunities or expressions but unfortunately, as photographers, we always make a few mistakes.

Overall, I enjoyed shooting the event, hopefully, I will get the opportunity again. These are only a few of the photographs but I hope you like them!

Berlin: Take 3

Messages left by the Russians after taking the Reichstag on the 2nd of May 1945.

Berlin: Take 3

Here are my final few photographs I am going to put up from the Berlin trip. There is no real theme to all the photographs just certain ones I wanted to share. For example, the photographs of one of my fellow officer cadets. I thought they were quite characteristic and definitely capture what my 50mm lens was purchased for!

The top two images are from on top of the Reichstag in Berlin, surprisingly they were taken on my phone and turned out really well! Good old Samsung Galaxy.

Unfortunately I don't think I will be going anywhere exciting soon, but, I am covering a dance show in a few weeks time so I will have photographs from that to put up! Hopefully I will be able to get a big collection of decent shots. I've been looking at purchasing a new Nikon lens recently (55mm-200mm), but for the same price I can get a Sigma or Tamron lens which goes up to 300mm! Decisions decisions!

As always, thanks for checking out my blog!
